To give our Columbia Crest Reserve wines the hands-on, special care you would expect from a boutique winery, we’ve established separate areas where we use artisan techniques for fermentation and barrel aging. This select group of super-premium Washington wines can be consumed now, but we suggest that you hold onto your favorites and allow them to develop in the bottle. They will reward your patience with rich flavors, velvety textures, and long finishes—and prove just how extraordinary Columbia Valley wines can be.

The aromatics of this Washington Cabernet Sauvignon offer chocolate, cherry
and subtle spice notes. The palate is a balance of oak, cocoa, raspberry
and blueberry. This is a lush, well-integrated wine with a lingering finish.

The fruit for our Reserve Merlot originates from both the Wahluke slope
and Horse Heaven Hills. Fruit from each source is vinified separately, with
only the top 10% making it into the final blend. Barrel-aged and racked frequently,
this wine has an intensity that shines through. This classic Washington Merlot
has a fruit-forward appeal and a lingering, velvety texture in the mouth.

Grapes for the Reserve Syrah are harvested predominantly from vineyards
located within the Yakima Valley (for their aromatic characteristics)—our
oldest Syrah vineyard site, the Horse Heaven Hills (for their balanced and
complex characteristics), and the Wahluke Slope (for their texture and good
body). Winemaker Ray Einberger was able to pull the best from these vineyards
to blend into this intense and exotic wine, creating both harmony and deep
varietal expression. This wine pairs perfectly with grilled peppercorn steak
and chocolate desserts.

Walter Clore is known as the “Father of the Washington’s Wine
Industry.” In honor of his viticultural research and contribution to
our success, we’ve named this special wine after him. Our Reserve Red
is a tradition-bound Bordeaux blend produced from vineyards among the
oldest in the state. Small lot, artisan-style winemaking has produced a refined
yet powerful wine that will reach maturity well into the next decade.
The aromatics feature ripe cherry, raspberry, blueberry with oak-influenced
mocha and roasted coffee. The soft, supple tannin profile balances the concentrated
fruit and oak, leading to a balanced, lingering finish.
